New Jersey Firm Appoints Private Wealth Management Executive

Peapack-Gladstone Bank has hired John Babcock as senior executive vice president and president of private wealth management, effective March 10, 2014.

Babcock has been brought in to expand the bank’s wealth management and private banking units, and offer “white-glove” services to new and existing clients, the firm said. 

Babcock has around 33 years of experience in wealth management and private banking, having most recently served as managing director and regional head of the Northeast Mid-Atlantic region for HSBC Private Bank.

In that role, he led around 50 professionals delivering investment, banking, lending, brokerage, insurance and other wealth management services and advice to high net worth families and individuals in the US and abroad.

Prior to HSBC, Babcock was managing director and regional chief executive for US Trust/Bank of America, as well as holding senior roles at The Bank of New York and Summit/Fleet Bank.
